What a mean mom I am!

What kind of a mom would have her daughters tonsils out 4 days before Christmas? Me. I know it sounds mean, but it was necessary even though it just about killed me. Lexxy has had strep throat 6 times this year, that's every other month! Enough said. About 3 weeks ago when Lexxy had her last bout of strep throat, our pediatrician suggested we see our ENT specialist, so back to the specialist we went. He asked Lexxy to open her mouth so he could look at her tonsils, he didn't even need a tongue depressor to see how big they were. We were scheduled for sugery within 5 minutes of our appointment. I had total confidence in our specialist from previous allergy appointments, plus he's a Davis Dart - how could you go wrong?! All went well, I will not deny, it's stinkin' hard and will continue for a few more days, but I'm good for it (I think).
My sweet girls before leaving to the Hospital. Ady was so dear, she kept telling Lexxy that she would hold her hand so she wouldn't be scared - I love that girl, she's a pure joy!
Pay no mind to the big brown man, Lexxy demanded a picture with her mommy and the brown man, okay her daddy (just kidding T!)

Lexxy trying to come out of the anesthesia. Wow! That was tough.

There's my smiling beauty, I enjoyed it while it lasted, cause it was only for seconds.

What we did today...

Sorry the clip is sideways - I don't know how to flip it...

We got A LOT of snow over the weekend and the girls found the perfect sledding place, our back deck! It was hilarious to watch, especially when they would come to an abrupt stop and go flying. I know I'm a mean mom, it's just something about your childrens faces in the snow...??

So, I am a bag pipe lover! It just gets to me and sometimes even brings tears to my eyes. These guys were awesome! Very talented.

Christmas Around the World at BYU

This is our 2nd year going to Christmas Around the World at BYU. This year was the first for Ady and after about a half an hour, she was ready to scram. However, she stuck it out and enjoyed the performance (good thing I had suckers in my purse). The students are so talented. I love it! I think we can call this a tradition, as long as the Cahoonie's stick around.
3 darling girls excited to get to the performance.
Ooh, I love these girls! (I think I need a new camera - sorry for the blurry pics!)

It was good to see you Jarelle!

Ady & scissors don't mix!

What is this you ask? It's a pile of Ady's hair! We had friends over Friday night and we got chatting too much, I guess. I must of made Ady feel like I wasn't paying enough attention to her or something because she took scissors to her hair and cut a lot! I freaked out (just a little!) - thank goodness for Angie, she keeps me pretty grounded.
Lovely!

The new-do. Thanks Ang for saving us! It's a little short, but none the less, she's still darling!

Gingerbread House

Wednesday was pajama day at our home. Lexxy woke up with strep throat, so we stayed in our jammies all day. The girls had been wanting to decorate a gingerbread house, so I broke out all the decor and here they are enjoying every minute. Lexxy even shared with Ady this year. What a nice sister!

Random Thanksgiving pictures. I think I've posted about this before, but Ady loves to take funny pictures with me...
My darling little baby who was so sick over the holiday, I'm sure it was Swine Flu, but what do you do... she was a good sport even though she didn't feel good.
Cute little baby Milo (Ady calls him Miyo)
Lillie Mae doesn't know if she wants that pumpkin pie.
Could this be abuse? Milo loves it! Look how darling he is.

How 'bout them Cougs! Oh yeah! Check out this group of rowdy fans. Yes that's a piece of grass from the field that my bro-in-law is holding. He's a little crazy, can't ya tell by the face!

Here are a few of my favorite things... my family! We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving. Lots of memories made. Thanks family!
Dinner at Tepanyaki. Who wants to eat leftovers?
Lexxy and her cousin, Chloe.
This kid is the best!
3 of the 4 sisters, we missed you Elizabeth.

The floors are vaccuumed and the furniture dusted, laundry done & Ady's down for a nap and Lexxy's not home from school - what to do with myself? I looked at a friend's blog and she had this posted on it - it really touched me, so I had to share it with you. And because I'm not a pro at blogging I don't know how to make it pretty like she did, but here's the link anyway. Hope it helps you to realize the important things in life to be thankful for, it sure did me!

What are you thankful for?

I'm a sucker...
for kittens that is. What's wrong with me?! I love kittens, but when they get bigger they could run away and no tears here. We already have 2 cats. I picked Lexxy up from a friend's home the other day and they came running out with a cute little kitten, Lexxy begged & begged all day, then got Ady going on it. Ahhhhh! Here's our new little member. Don't worry he'll end up outside soon, just like the other 2.

Okay, so I don't promote this and it will probably be our only one (maybe!), but here's Lexxy in a "fashion show". Here's how it came about: there's a cute clothing boutique that opened here in Eden, one day we were in "looking" around and the owner came up to me and told me Lexxy HAD to be in her fashion show. Why thank you I said.. and here we are. Lexxy had a blast. She modeled 3 outfits. One was this snow outfit, the cute zebra outfit below and then a darling angel outfit - I didn't get any pictures of the angel, and that was my most favorite, dang!

BOO! I know it's a little late, but that's how I roll around here. Here's our trick or treating bunch. We had such a fun time with our friends - the evening started out with a yummy dinner in a pumpkin and hot wassail. Then we hit the road with some hard-core trick or treating, the Barber girls keep going & going & going. Thanks Ang for a memorable night!
Mommy and her girls after the big evening of trick or treating.

My little bunny rabbit at Lexxy's classroom party.
So, the week of Halloween Lexxy decided to change her mind on her costume, she decided she wanted to be a pirate (?) Thank goodness for the DI and friends I was able to pull her costume together - I think it turned out darling.

The girls modeling their trophies

Ady & Pressley at the race

Watch out BMX racers! These girls are going to be pros (just kidding mom!) We went to a BMX race in Farmington, and the girls got to race~ it was absolutely darling! They both had so much fun and wanted to do it again. I have to admit it was fun, but it was a little crazy and intimidating and thought that the girls wouldn't go for it, but they did awesome! The only thing I regret is I didn't grab my camera when we went to race, so I just have before/after pictures. They even got trophies ~ go girls!

Cute little friends!
Ghost sands

These were the lonely 2 spiders left

We had a little Halloween Party for the girls in Lexxy's class (12 of them!) - Thanks to my friend Angie (Karra you're still my friend too!) who stayed and helped me, it got a little crazy! It included spider cookies, ghost sandwiches and orange witch's brew. We played a couple of games, ate food and had a very scary pumpkin pinata.

Life is tough!
2 Little Indians showed up one evening at my home (yes this took alot of scrubbing to get off)
Turn up your volume to hear the craziness of the dance - it's hilarious! Hope you enjoy the craziness of my life

Lexxy enjoying breakfast being brought to her...
Ady enjoying a bubble bath in the BIG tub at the hotel

2 cuties stylin' their painted faces

WOW! they even have a "Pumpkin Princess" - what more could you ask for!

My little princess

General Conference weekend was the best! Friday evening we went to Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point with my sister Emily & her family. Then we headed to Grand America (what!) to stay the night with Muppy, Pops, my sister Lezli and her family. We were totally spoiled and felt like Princesses! Then Saturday morning I went with my mom, dad & sister to General Conference while the girls stayed at the hotel with Lezli, Rob, Matthew & Joshua. What a wonderful, memorable weekend - thanks family!

We call him "Leo the Landscaper" and he's a dang cute one too - if you have ever seen the back of the backyard, beyond the grass, well it was weeds! Look how awesome it looks now.
